A Coffee a day, for 5 days
An UX informational interview project
The concept of this project was to carry out 5 different informational interviews with 5 different UX professionals over the course of 5 days. Throughout the interviews I would learn about the UX professionals’ story and journey into the design field, receive advice for junior designers such as myself, and get a chance to have my portfolio reviewed live.
At the end of each interview, I summarized the discussion and feedback into its own article on Medium.
Role: Writer, Interviewer, Logo Designer
Project Length: 1 Week (May 2019)
Who did I interview?
Why did I do it?
For me, this was a great way to meet and build stronger connections with designers in Toronto as I had recently graduated from a UX/UI program at the time. It was also a way to get advice for designers in my position that are trying to get their foot in the door, and you can never turn down the opportunity to get your portfolio reviewed in-person by someone that knows what they’re talking about.
The decision to publish articles was a fun challenge and twist added to it that allowed me to continue building a presence in the design community and practice my writing skills.
Design is where creativity, strategy, and psychology meet.
